Have you ever wondered what it might be like to study Hairdressing? Students at Nelson and Colne College are showcasing some exceptional creativity as they learn about styles from different eras.
The College’s Hair Academy has an outstanding reputation for excellence in the provision of Hairdressing qualifications. With three stylish, modern, commercial salons, Hairdressing students are able to learn the skills of the trade, whilst stretching their creativity in a real-life working environment. Each year, students from the Hair Academy progress into fantastic careers; working in top local salons or even showing entrepreneurial spirit and starting up their own businesses! Some students even progress to university, studying on extremely competitive degree programmes such as Film and Media Hair and Make-up.
In the past few months, Level 3 Hairdressing students have been perfecting their styling techniques in preparation for the College’s annual Hairdressing Competition Evening, held at the Colne Municipal Hall. This is a true, show-stopping extravaganza of talent, which showcases the very best of hairdressing skills and styling. Working with their tutors, they have worked on a variety of themes including styles from different eras and even caveman or cavewoman styles!
The College is keen to promote individuality and creativity in all of its students, and particularly in the Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy courses. Inspiration comes in a variety of shapes and sizes, and the students have really worked hard to make their dreams come to fruition.
