Public services students have celebrated their two years at Nelson and Colne College with a glamorous five-course MESS dinner.
The military-style event took place in the College’s restaurant Farringtons and promoted the importance of etiquette and politeness.
Former student Captain Sarah Peel AGC acted as guest speaker for the evening, which was also attended by Principal Amanda Melton.
Public services lecturer Neil Morville said: “This is our sixth year of running the MESS dinner and once again it was a true celebration of the success of our second year students.
“We are thrilled that Principal Amanda Melton and Captain Sarah Peel could join us for the gorgeous meal – prepared and served by our Catering and Hospitality students.
“The night was a fabulous way to recognise the achievements of our students, who after studying at NCC have the opportunity to progress into the public services and onto degree courses including Police and Criminal Investigation.”
Students on the Public Services course learn all about life in the services, including the Armed Forces and the Police, Ambulance and Fire Services. Throughout their time at the College, they participate in theory lessons and take part in numerous physical activities.
