The Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has confirmed the quality and standards of provision at Nelson and Colne College Sixth Form!
The College already has an outstanding national reputation for excellence in its further education, as latest Government data has placed the College as the third in the country for young Apprenticeship success and fourth in the country for A Level grades! The College is dedicated to helping students become the very best that they can be by unlocking their full potential, and so undertakes frequent reviews and inspections by various governing boards.
A team of QAA reviewers, who assessed the College’s newest Higher Education provision, recently visited the College and judged that its academic standards, the quality and enhancement of its student learning opportunities, and the quality of information about its learning opportunities all meet UK expectations!
The review identified the flexible and highly supportive approach of the Learning Resources Centre and the comprehensive approach taken by the College to enhance the employability and career prospects of students as exceptional examples of good practice. It also highlighted the well organised assignment schedule, comprehensive feedback and rapid return of student assessments.
Tracey Baron, Assistant Principal – Quality, said, “The College is already recognised nationally for its outstanding practices at a further education level and we are delighted that this review of our Higher Education provision demonstrates that the College meets UK standards and expectations. This reflects and confirms that our provision overall is of the highest quality, embracing best practise and excellence in teaching and learning. Students who choose to study here can feel confident that they are getting best possible learning experience!”
