A first ever Pendle Careers Expo will be held at Nelson and Colne College next week for those looking for an Apprenticeship, employment or work experience and employers seeking their next star.
The Expo will be held at the College in Scotland Road on Thursday 8th June, between 6pm and 8pm, and is open to anybody wanting to find out more about the Apprenticeship route or apply for live vacancies.
Those attending can also take part in workshops on CV development and interview techniques, talk to employers about opportunities available to them and gain expert careers advice.
Around 30 businesses are signed up so far from a wide range of employment sectors, including Business Administration, Catering and Hospitality, Childcare, Creative and Digital, Engineering, Health and Social Care, Information Technology and more.
As well as talking to potential future star employees, employers will also benefit from the event by hearing from guest speakers on ‘hot topics’, including the new Apprenticeship levy, and have the chance to network with other businesses from 4pm. They will also have opportunity to talk to NCC’s expert Business Team about tailored training opportunities to meet business needs.
NCC’s Director of Apprenticeships and Training Barbara Livesey said: “We are extremely excited to be holding our Pendle Careers Expo at the College next week and we have had an excellent response from employers in Pendle and the surrounding area who are keen to attend, discover how we can work with their business, and talk to upcoming talent.
“With all sectors represented, those looking at an Apprenticeship, a job or work experience can come in and explore the opportunities available to them and talk to local employers and apprentices. For those ready, there will be the chance to apply for live vacancies on the night, with the support of our expert Apprenticeship team, and there will also be the chance to take part in workshops.
“We very much look forward to welcoming visitors and employers through our doors on Thursday 8th June.”
NCC is number one in the country for its work with apprentices aged 16-18 and is also second nationally for its overall Apprenticeship provision.
