Former student Hassan Imtiaz has been working hard at achieving his dream – and now he’s only one step away from taking to the sky!
The College is always thrilled to hear of the many successes of its former students! Nelson and Colne College is a small and caring college, with a tailored and individual approach to education. Former students frequently keep in contact with their old tutors at the College and therefore it learns of many interesting triumphs as they move on to university and employment. The most recent story of success to be passed on to the College is Hassan Imtiaz, a young man with ambitions of becoming a pilot.
Hassan, originally from Marsden Heights Community College, studied A Level Business Studies, Economics and Mathematics for the last two years at Nelson and Colne College. With the help of his College, Hassan was able to find the correct balance between his studies and following his ambitious hobby. He achieved strong grades in his A Level exams, and was named as Student of the Year in Economics in the College’s annual STAR Awards and is now well positioned to fly into a fantastic piloting career!
Hassan will be sitting his class one airline pilot’s medical test in February 2015, and from there he should soon take up his place at flight school and begin to learn everything he needs to know to reach his dream.
