Top achiever Fayzan Ali is progressing into his preferred Accountancy placement at the University of Manchester after gaining A*AA grades at Nelson and Colne College.
Fayzan, 18, from Burnley, is formerly of Marsden Heights Community College and achieved his grades in Sociology, Business and Law.
Fayzan said: “It has been a bit of a strange time with results not having been decided this way before, but I’m relieved to have achieved what I needed to progress to the University of Manchester.
“I’m looking forward to beginning my Accountancy degree and working towards my ambition of becoming a chartered accountant or a tax specialist.
“During lockdown I have tried to keep my mind busy and I’ve been playing basketball with my brother in the garden to stay active.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at College. My teachers have been very supportive throughout and they know their respective subjects extremely well.
“I would recommend Nelson and Colne College to other students because the overall environment is friendly and easy to learn in and the teaching is excellent.”
