Two former Beauty Therapy students from the College are due to embark on a wonderful adventure; after being selected to work for Steiner, a spa company operating on board luxury cruise liners across the world!
The College was therefore thrilled to learn that two of its students, Shona Simpson and Faye Carradice had been selected from hundreds of applicants to start work with Steiner, who are the largest and most renowned company that operates spas at sea. Steiner have been providing quality spa and salon services at sea for over 50 years, employing over 2000 spa professionals every year to travel while they work. As well as hiring massage and beauty therapists, they also employ fitness instructors, physicians, acupuncturists, hairdressers, nail technicians and receptionists for their spas on board luxury cruise ships which sail all over the world.
Shona said, “So far we have learnt lots! We have been able to use all the massage skills we learnt at College along with discovering different advanced techniques. It’s very intense with lots to learn but I am really excited to go on board and see the world!”
Beauty Therapy tutor Gail Bailey said, “It’s such a pleasure for us to see our students be successful out in industry and we’re always excited to watch them go aboard the cruise ships and travel the world. Over the years we’ve seen lots of girls successfully apply to Steiner and last year was extra special as 3 of our therapists were accepted. It’s great to see the students and the tutors hard work pay off.”
The College has an outstanding reputation for its expertise in the field of Beauty Therapy, with a wealth of experience offered by its tutors who, in addition to owning and managing their own salons, have worked in the industry all over the globe! Every year, students progress into employment in the industry; some even showing true entrepreneurial spirit by opening their own salons. In addition, in previous years, students have gone on to study university courses such as Media Make Up, Complimentary Therapy and Make-Up Artistry and Special Make-Up Effects.
