The College has retained their ‘Excellence’ Charter Status for NHS Workplace Wellbeing!
The College constantly strives to improve personal physical and mental fitness amongst students and staff alike. Students are encouraged to participate in the extensive extra-curricular activities that the College offers, including sports academies in football, basketball and netball, fencing, Bokwa, and the ever popular Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award!
It isn’t just students who benefit from the College’s push for fitness. Staff members may participate in many of the activities offered, and have open off-peak access to the College gym.
The College has previously been awarded with the ‘Excellence’ Charter Status for NHS Workplace Wellbeing, and this year the College has retained that ‘Excellence’!
The judging panel commented that, “After having looked through all of your evidence and been present at your presentation, the panel have unanimously agreed to award Nelson and Colne College with a Workplace Wellbeing Charter accreditation of ‘Excellence’. The enthusiasm and commitment was evident throughout, which highlighted not just the professionalism, strength of team and commitment to the Health and Wellbeing agenda from those employed within the College but that of its students too.”
