Staff and students from Nelson and Colne College and Lancashire Adult Learning spotted a great opportunity to have fun and raise money for this year’s Children in Need appeal.
Staff at Chorley-based LAL arrived for work in a variety of spotty, dotty outfits – for some it was an excuse to come to work in their slippers! All who dressed up made a donation and there were competitions to raise extra funds on the day.
Over at Nelson and Colne College, students got involved too. Media students were painting Pudsey-style faces, the Childcare department held a sale of delicious baked goods and Engineering student Sean Grover, 16, showed real pedal power by cycling 50km on an exercise bike during the afternoon!
Principal of LAL and NCC Amanda Melton said: “We are dedicated to driving up funds for charities and worthwhile causes at LAL and NCC, and the Children in Need annual fund-raiser is always a real highlight. It has, as always, been a pleasure seeing staff and students getting behind the CiN campaign – from the dotty dress up to the impressive cycle ride. Well done to everybody for getting involved!”
The grand total of money raised for CiN is still being totted up.
