The College’s new Cookery School has launched this year, proving to be popular with keen amateur chefs who want to improve their culinary skills.

It’s never too late to continue in education or to take extra training. Whether that is to improve your work and career prospects, or simply to gain new skills, Nelson and Colne College continues to offer the people of Pendle an array of part-time and full-time courses for self-development. New this year, is the College’s Cookery School, offering one day master classes to those who want to improve their skills in the kitchen.

Keen amateur cooks have already joined master classes such as “Perfect Pasta” and “Creating Canapés” – and the Cookery School has many other 1 day master classes due to run in the coming months, including; “Delicious Desserts”, “The Perfect Dinner Party”, “Cook Like Heston”, “Perfect Pastry” and “Italian Dishes”.

Amy Platts attended the first Cookery School Master Class “Perfect Pasta” and said, “I originally booked to do the one day course because I love fresh pasta dishes and really wanted to learn how to make them more interesting.”
“The course was excellent value for money as it included breakfast pastries and refreshments, lunch and even a taster menu meal which was cooked for us throughout the day. I learned how to make different types of pasta, as well as experimenting with different flavours and fillings, and even working with Squid Ink to create the black pasta you can order in restaurants. Mark was fantastic; spending time with all of us individually to ensure we all got what we wanted from the course.  I would definitely recommend the Catering courses at Nelson and Colne College, and will definitely be booking onto another in the near future.”
