When applying for an Apprenticeship, it’s important that you have an up to date and current CV to showcase all of your skills, knowledge and experience.
Your CV is your personal brochure; it gives you a chance to show off all the attributes that make you the perfect choice for employers!
Here we’re listed some of our top tips to help you ensure your CV stands out from the crowd…
1. Tailor your CV to the company or Apprenticeship vacancy
Your CV should be tailored for the job you’re applying for, matching your skills and experience to the specific requirements of the job.
2. Show what makes you unique
Provide examples and don’t be afraid to explain how you think you would help enhance the team. Make yourself stand out from the others who may have applied.
3. Keep it error free
It’s easy to make mistakes on your CV but difficult to repair the damage once an employer gets it! Always do a spell check for spellings and grammar errors before you press submit on your application.
4. Tell the truth
There’s a difference between selling yourself and inventing things! Always be honest as it may catch you out further down the line.
5. Keep it concise
Your CV is too long the potential employer will more than likely switch off. Most employers simply skim read a CV for the relevant information they need. Your CV should be no more than two pages long and have line spaces between each section.
